OK, I finally got around to setting up a couple places where I can post more GOOD stuff. First I have tumblr, where I will post regularly and more freely than DA. Check out my tumblr

I've been running things on my new PC for a little while now and this week I got my Samsung ultra-wide monitor. The thing is amazing, I feel like I've been looking through a straw my whole life. It's an amazing gaming monitor and when it comes to 3D work and graphic design it's a lifesaver. I'll be running Daz, 3DS Max, and Photoshop with plenty of room for everything, and my 32gb of DDR4 ram not breaking a sweat.

So I've been able to work on a lot more of my projects, but I've found there are still a lot of kinks to work out. I screwed up my gamma settings and couldn't figure out why, but it's all good now. I've also found that I need to redo some of my shaders, because I haven't been satisfied with what I've been rendering. Sub-surface scattering present some challenges because it takes a lot more customization to make look right from every angle and in different lighting conditions. Something in one scene might look great in one render but completely off in the exact same scene from another angle. And I never really took time to get eye, mouth, and genital shaders looking perfect so that's what I'm up to now.

I am planning on starting a patreon soon, so I'd be interested to hear ideas. I want to keep the vast majority of my work free and posting it at the usual places, but I would like to have some incentive for those who like my stuff enough to throw a little money into my hat. My thoughts on what I could offer so far:
-A few renders and stories reserved for Patrons
-Stories which offer some interaction from Patrons, such as voting on what happens in the next scene.
-Occasional wallpapers (higher res and more artsy than normal renders)
-Behind the scenes stuff (if anyone cares)

I'm definitely open to ideas, if there is something you think would be worth a dollar or 5 a month let me know. And I'll be getting some good stuff done soon! It's been too long since I've done any fan-art...

I finally pulled the trigger and let go of about $3k to build my dream PC build. I justify it to myself by saying it will last much longer than what I previously had and I hope to make some money back through 3D work eventually. We'll see though, I might just drop everything and be forever lost in the wonderfully unhindered gaming experience! Seriously though, it will make 3D work much easier and speed things up x1000.

For anyone curious, once I get this built I'll be working with the i7-6700k processor (cooled by a Noctua DH-15 CPU fan) with a sturdy z170 chip-set motherboard, 32 GB DDR4 3200 SDRAM, a GTX 980ti video card with 6GB GDDR5, a 500GB SSD, 4TB HDD, and simply for the sake of decadence, a 34" ultra-wide Samsung monitor. So while not the highest tier of enthusiast builds, I'll have plenty of juice for what I want to do and I think this will age better then my last build from 2011.

So that will probably be about a month's wait to get all the components, in the meantime I guess I should get a Tumblr or Patreon going, or something...

Here's a little update for anyone still watching my stuff; I'm still alive! I haven't posted anything in quite a while obviously; as usual work and other aspects of life have taken priority, and I still need a good night's sleep as well. I still mess around with Daz from time to time and my imagination is still active; however, I usually end up not finishing any work because my hardware is still dated, and not getting any younger. I'm shopping for parts for a new rig, and in the future I plan on building one with the i7 6700k cpu, gtx 980ti video card, and looking at the LG ultra-wide 34" monitors. So those along with all the rest of the parts that will make my dreams come true will be getting me up to the $3k range. Yikes!

However, if I could actually get some work done I'd like to try my hand at a commercial venture. I feel like I've come a long way in learning with Daz, 3DS Max, and Vray, and I could put out a nice image set of high enough quality to sell. Perhaps with enough work it would pay itself off. Hell, I could still use my not-so-up-to-date PCs as little render minions to make things go faster. And although I know not all of my projects will get finished, I would like to continue with a couple of them and make a nice, complete, sexy story.

So happy new years, and wish me a good tax return so I can buy some awesome stuff! I'll try to get something good finished in the near future.
